Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
The Association of PAs in Psychiatry is committed to fostering a professional community that values diversity, advances equity, and promotes inclusion. We believe that excellence in psychiatric care is strengthened by welcoming a broad range of backgrounds, experiences, identities, perspectives, and voices within our profession.
We recognize that mental health is shaped by social, cultural, economic, and structural factors, and that many individuals and communities continue to face significant barriers to care. As an organization, we support efforts to improve access to high-quality psychiatric care and to promote respectful, culturally responsive, and person-centered practice.
We are committed to creating an inclusive environment in which all members feel welcomed, respected, and supported. We also believe that strengthening diversity within the PA profession and within psychiatric practice helps improve collaboration, learning, advocacy, and patient care.
Our goal is to encourage education, dialogue, and professional engagement that reflect the needs of diverse patient populations and the clinicians who serve them. Through this commitment, we seek to support a stronger profession and better mental health care for all.
